LEADERSHIP IN ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (LEED)
Protecting the Environment- Construction 2007
"Baybutt Construction Coporation completed
a LEED certified project at the Barre Family Health Center, Barre MA
for UMASS Memorial. This project is very special because hospital
design typically requires the facility to be operated in a manner
that interior air quality conditions be as high-quality as possible.
The LEED program, on the other hand, emphasizes energy
savings through reduced operating time of HVAC equipment and
Mechanical systems. Through careful attention to detail, planning,
and review with all parties involved; the project was able
to be built in a manner that is energy efficient as well as meet
stringent hospital operating standards.

Local Firms Collaborate to Achieve Award Winning Project
Bellows Falls Waypoint Interpretive Center- Bellows Falls, VT
January 25, 2006
Under the lead and dedication of Daniel V. Scully Architects of Keene NH, collaborating with Clough Harbor & Associates, LLP and Baybutt Construction Corporation, an architectural award-winning project is now situated in Bellows Falls VT near the Connecticut River. Visually, the building appears as a train station, platform with canopy. The Bellows Falls Waypoint Interpretive Center includes display and meeting room areas, and resembles a wooden railroad station. Bisecting the platform is a concrete sidewalk with steel arch above, replicating the old Arch Bridge which spanned between NH and VT, and was demolished in 1982. The crossing axis of the bridge and train create the “Square” –the brick patio which fulfills the platform imagery. This outstanding project puts the present in context with the past, and is worthy of its visitors.
