NEWS FLASH:

SPRINGFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

After several years of planning, and after funding was approved by the taxpayers, the Union Street and Elm Hill Elementary Schools in Springfield VT will now get their needed renovations and additions . Baybutt Construction Corp. of Keene was the successful low and responsible bidder on these two school projects, coming in at $16.23 Million. Dore and Whittier Architects of Burlington VT are the designers for these projects. Elm Hill students have b en relocated while the $6,757,725 coneemestruction occurs, which will include extensive site work, threee additions and comprehensive renovation to existing school. Union Street students will occupy the school during the $9,475,525 addition and renovation project which will include site work, comprehensive renovation to existing school and a 15,000 sf addition.

Baybutt Construction Building New Police Headquarters

Baybutt Construction was awarded the construction management contract to build the new Police Headquarters for the City of Somersworth, NH. After the City Council gave final approval of the project budget, Baybutt broke ground in April. The project, designed by Goudreau & Associates Architects, PLLC, includes new construction of a 13,000 sf police facility and comprehensive site improvements to include an impound area. The headquarters will be a two-story building with brick façade, will contain two cells and a holding area, booking area, interview room, dispatch, armory, two state-of-the-art sally ports, evidence storage and processing, surveillance and security system, an emergency generator, and will house the City’s Emergency Operations Center. The project, valued at $3,048,100, is scheduled to be completed in early 2008.

Protecting the Environment- Construction 2007

Baybutt Construction Coporation is in the process of completing a LEED certified project at the Barre Family Health Center, Barre MA for UMASS Memorial. This project is very special because hospital design typically requires the facility to be operated in a manner that interior air quality conditions be as high-quality as possible.  The LEED program on the other hand emphasizes energy savings through reduced operating time of HVAC equipment and Mechanical systems. Through careful attention to detail, planning, and review with all parties involved; the project was able to be built in a manner that is energy efficient as well as meet stringent hospital operating standards.

Baybutt Construction Corporation was very involved throughout the entire construction process in various aspects.
